J'anita’s is now cooking at the Avenue 7 days a week!

In April we welcomed Craig and Kimmie of J'anita's (formerly  on Magazine Street) to our kitchen. They are amazing cooks and serve up some incredible food from that tiny little kitchen -  J'anita's serves the best bar food in the city! Since we don't offer table service, please order food at the kitchen counter and stick around to hear you name called (and please return plates & cutlery there when done). Order from the best beer list in the State at the bar. Because we are a bar we are an over 21 establishment (and we do check).

 Some original menu items include:

• Sweet Spot Burger - Burger marinated in Cabernet, Caramelized Onions, Caramelized Pears, Blue Cheese and a Balsamic reduction glaze.

• Best Ever Fish Sammich - Grilled Redfish, Feta Cheese, Bacon, Grilled Onions, Caesar Dressing on Ciabatta bread

• Swamp Reuben: Pulled Pork and Brisket, with house BBQ sauce and house Coleslaw on grilled Sourdough Bread (*Pyrate Approved!)

• St Chuck Duck - grilled sourdough with currant tapenade, cheddar and blue cheese, cabernet sautéed duck and granny smith apples

• The Polymnia - grilled Portobello mushrooms, grilled marinated vegetables, horseradish aioli and melted cheddar with a spicy slaw

• BBB - Burger doused in Lea & Perrins (Worcestershire Sauce), Pepper Jack Cheese, Bacon and house made BBQ sauce

• Duck and Anduoille Gumbo

• Tomato Basil Soup

• Chilled Cucumber Soup

• Homemade Guacamole
